TRANS Centre is presently seeking committed and passionate personnel to join our dynamic team in serving the community.

1. SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER /COUNSELLOR

Responsibilities

  • Provide casework and counselling services
  • Manage, supervise and coach a team of social workers
  • Network and liaise with govt bodies, other VWOs and other external agencies
  • Assist the Exec Director and Centre Director in management planning.

Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Social Work/Counselling
  • Possess good leadership and management skills
  • Must have initiative and analytical thinking ability
  • Hardworking and independent
  • A good team player
  • Preference will be given to those who have at least 6 years of social work experience.

2. SOCIAL WORKER

Responsibilities

  • Provide casework and counselling services
  • Provide Information and Referral services to walk-in and call-in clients
  • Plan and conduct programmes for families and children

Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Social Work . Fresh Social Work graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Good interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • A good team player, hardworking and independent

VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT

The centre works with a pool of volunteers to organize programmes to meet needs in the community. Most of the volunteers are involved in direct work with the clients. Different types of training programmes are periodically run to support volunteers in their work.

Take up a project to Touch a Life!

Be A Mentor to a Child

You can mentor children who need extra guidance and coaching in their social skills and personal life. Tutorial assistance and play are means to achieve these.


Who are these children:

Children & youth aged 7 - 14, especially those from low-income families, who may be facing difficulties at home or in school.


Be a Befriender to an elderly or caregivers in need

You can visit the elderly or caregivers at their homes and provide a listening ear. Be their emotional support and monitor their welfare and safety.




Commitment & Skills Required:
18 years old and Above
Take up a volunteering project for at least 12 months.
The frequency of meeting your befriendee can be once a week/ fortnightly, or monthly, depending on the need and situation. Training will be provided.



They are waiting for a befriender / mentor to help them weather through the struggles in their lives.
